Jackpot! Youngstown Lottery Player Wins $140K on Rolling Cash 5!
Someone in Youngstown just cashed in big, snagging $140,000 on a Rolling Cash 5 ticket bought at Mahoning Drive Thru on Mahoning Ave. The February 17 drawing had the lucky numbers 4, 16, 17, 25, and 26, and now, the city is buzzingâwhoâs the mystery winner? While theyâre likely planning their next move (new car? vacation? early retirement?), the local retailer is enjoying the spotlight. Just goes to showâyou never know when luck is on your side!
Youngstown Reclaims Failed Chill-Can SiteâWhatâs Next?
Youngstown is finally taking control of the long-abandoned Chill-Can siteâclosing the book on a project that never lived up to the hype. On February 20, 2025, the city purchased the 21-acre property in a sheriffâs sale, reclaiming the unfinished development on the East Side. Once touted as a major job creator, the site sat in limbo for years, leaving behind vacant buildings and frustration. Now, city officials are weighing options for its future, with a focus on economic development and revitalization. While no decisions have been made yet, this marks a major step in reshaping whatâs next for Youngstown.
Handleâs Homemade Ice Cream Introduces New Flavor
A Youngstown-founded ice cream parlor just unveiled its first fresh flavor of 2025. Handelâs Homemade Ice Cream, a Mahoning Valley staple since 1945, rolled out Sticky Fingers, a tasty mix of peanut butter ice cream loaded with brownie chunks, caramel swirls, and a standout twistâsea salt caramel truffles. This new treat comes from Ohio franchisee Bruce Hill, a flavor mastermind whoâs been whipping up crowd-pleasers for years. According to Handelâs Chief Marketing Officer Hillary Frei, Hill drew inspiration from classic desserts, blending smooth peanut butter ice cream with gooey caramel, fudgy brownie bits, and chocolate truffles packed with salted caramel to craft a scoop thatâs bound to win fans.

Checking Out The Recently Opened Dave & Busters

We checked out the new Dave & Busterâs this past Saturday, despite early complaints about long waits and a small arcade. Hereâs the real deal:
We arrived at 2:30 PM, and while it was packed, the staff kept things moving. The wait for a table was long, so we grabbed seats at the bar. Food? Surprisingly great. Service? Quick, even with the crowd.
The arcade felt smaller than other locations, but it handled the crowd well. Jackpots were hitting, and we even raced a Dave & Busterâs employee in Mario KartâI took 1st place, becoming only the second person to ever beat him. Proud gamer moment.
After a few hours, we cashed in our tickets. Like any D&B, prizes take a ton of points, but the selection was solid. I walked away with two Rick & Morty items and a smile.
Final Take:
â Great food
â Fun games
â Jackpot-friendly

Healthy Hearts And Paws Project

At Healthy Hearts and Paws Project in Warren, Ohio, every tail wag and happy purr is made possible by volunteers and community support. This nonprofit, founded by Jason Cooke, is dedicated to rescuing dogs and catsâespecially those with medical needsâand giving them a fresh start. They donât receive government funding, so everything from pet food to paper towels comes from generous people who believe in their mission.
One of the pups waiting for her forever home is Jolene, a 65-pound sweetheart whoâs as friendly as they come. She loves her walks, adores people, and even gets along with cats! Playing with volunteers is her favorite part of the day, but what she really wants is a family of her own. If youâre not ready to adopt, you can still help by donating supplies, volunteering, or just spreading the word. It takes a village to save these animalsâJolene is just one of many hoping for a second chance. Learn more about adopting Jolene
