Jersey Mike's Celebrates 15th Annual 'Month of Giving' with Local Charity Partnerships
Three charities in the Mahoning and Shenango Valleys are partnering with four local Jersey Mike's Subs shops for the 15th annual "Month of Giving" in March, culminating in a "Day of Giving" on March 26, where 100% of salesânot just profitsâwill support The Brightside Project (Cortland and Salem), Children's Center for Mercer County (Hermitage), and Project MKC (Boardman), with customers able to round up purchases or donate $1, $3, or $5 all month; nationwide, Jersey Mike's owners will donate every dollar from in-store, online, and app sales to 200 charities like hospitals and food banks, aiming to exceed last yearâs $25 million haul, adding to the $113 million raised since 2011.
Hubbard Massage Parlor Faces Another Police Raid
For the second time, a massage parlor in Hubbard has been raided by local authorities amid allegations of illegal activities, sparking concerns about whatâs really happening behind closed doors. Law enforcement, acting on new evidence, executed another search warrant as part of an ongoing investigation into the businessâs operations. While officials have yet to release specifics, the repeat raid suggests this isnât just a one-time incident. Nearby businesses and residents are taking notice, wondering if this will finally put an end to the controversy or if itâs just another chapter in a long-running saga. Stay tuned as more details emerge.
YSU secures an additional $250,000 donation to support the Kilcawley 'Centered on the Future' campaign
Youngstown State University received a $250,000 donation from Laura and Paul Lyden, along with Lyden Oil Company, for the "Kilcawley: Centered on the Future" campaign, earning the family and company recognition with the "Monumental Stairs" at the renovated Kilcawley Center and a spot in YSUâs Stone Bridge Giving Society for their contributions ranging between $1 million and $2 million. As dedicated supporters, with Laura on the Board of Trustees and Paul on the Penguin Club Board, their impact led campaign chair Scott Schulick to state, "The Lydens' support is a game-changer for this campaign," while President Bill Johnson remarked, "Once again, I find myself inspired by the incredible generosity of supporters like the Lyden family."

Business Brief
Condado Tacos in Boardman

Condado in Boardman is a casual chain thatâs won me over with its build-your-own tacos, fresh ingredients like zesty carnitas and creamy guac, and a killer toppings bar that makes every bite perfectâI loved my spicy carnitas creation! Pair that with a solid beer and cocktail menu (the mango margarita is a must), a chill vibe, and late-night hours, and youâve got a spot thatâs hard to beat for a quick, tasty meal or a fun night out, all at a fair price with friendly service.
The Best Subs in Town? Sandwich Factory Might Just Have Them

Growing up, my dad and his coworkers had a little trick to keep their favorite lunch spot under wraps. Whenever someone asked where they were going, theyâd simply say âSecret Fort.â It was their way of dodging questions and keeping the best subs in town to themselves, a playful nod to the initials of their actual destinationâSandwich Factory. But Iâm blowing up the secretâthis place is too good not to share.
With locations in Austintown, Boardman, and Poland, Sandwich Factory has been stacking fresh ingredients on toasted rolls for decades. Their Steak Philly and Italian Stallion are local legends, piled high with freshly sliced meats, melty cheese, crisp veggies, and house-made sauces that take things to the next level. Itâs not just about the subs, either. Their menu also features hearty salads, wraps, and loaded baked potatoes, giving customers plenty of ways to satisfy their cravings.
What really sets them apart is the consistencyâgenerous portions, top-tier ingredients, and prices that wonât break the bank. Itâs the kind of place where once youâve been, youâll understand why some people wanted to keep it a secret. But trust me, this is one spot that deserves to be known.
Pizza Poll Results!

We wanted to know what pizza shop we should review first and the winner is Avalon Downtown Pizzeria! Here is a snapshot of where each pizza shop landed and gives us a road map of where we need to go next. Unfortunately Coccaâs didnât get any votes which was shocking to us. We order Coccaâs fairly often and always enjoy the quality of their food. But be on the look out for upcoming food review content!
