Nightmare in Niles Promises Screams, Chills, and 82,000 Sq. Ft. of Pure Terror
If you're from around here and live for haunted houses like I do, then mark your calendar for Friday, October 3 because Nightmare in Niles is about to blow the roof off spooky season. This brand-new attraction is bringing two massive, monster-packed haunts to town, and each one is more than twice the size of their biggest attraction from their previous location. With 82,000 square feet of indoor darkness, you're guaranteed to stay dry while losing your mind in the best possible way. From twisted screams to haunted dreams, this place is promising full-on terror, and I couldnât be more excited. The monsters are prepped, the sets are enormous, and if you're brave enough to step inside, letâs just say... the nightmare really begins here.
Braceville Township Farm Kicks Off Fall Festivities This Saturday
Braceville's beloved spot for autumn family adventures is gearing up to host visitors once again at Kuchta Farms, which kicks off its seasonal operations this Saturday. The farm boasts an array of engaging fall experiences suitable for all ages, including picking pumpkins, enjoying wagon rides, and wandering through a corn maze inspired by Ohio State. Guests can also check out the brand-new Farmerâs Grill for eats or grab some branded souvenirs from the general store, plus exciting additions like a massive slide hill where you hop on a burlap sack for a thrilling descentâthoroughly kid-approved after multiple test runsâand a pumpkin-shaped jump pad for bouncy fun. According to Amanda Kuchta, these features are already a hit with the little ones. The farm operates Wednesday through Sunday until November 1, with hours running from noon to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays, noon to 8 p.m. on Fridays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
Antique Sellers Reconvene at Shaker Woods Site
This weekend is a prime time for antique enthusiasts, with a chance to discover rare treasures in Columbiana, where the Shaker Woods grounds host the longstanding Antiques in the Woods & Vintage Too event across 10 acres of vendor boothsâmarking over two decades of tradition and shaping up to be its largest edition yet with 100 participating antique sellers, up by 20 from the previous year, all housed under covered setups to ensure the show proceeds rain or shine. Co-owner Rege White explains that they promote the event at various shows throughout Ohio and the Pittsburgh area, drawing in vendors who come to adore the peaceful wooded environment and its unique ambiance. The gathering operates from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, offering shoppers a diverse selection of one-of-a-kind items from holiday ornaments to wartime relics, while Saturday visitors can snap a selfie by the Garden Stage for complimentary admission the following day and also vote for their favorite booth.
Business Brief

Penn-Ohio Veterinary Services
As a pet parent, nothing rattles you like seeing your dog in distressâand this past week, our Golden Retriever Zoey gave us quite the scare. Sheâs had seizures in the past, but thanks to the medical plan from Penn-Ohio Veterinary Services, sheâs been doing great, until Thursday night, when she had one of the worst episodes weâve ever seen. First thing Friday morning, they had us in the exam room. No waiting, no runaround. Just fast, compassionate care. The staff was incredible with both of us, calm, informative, and genuinely invested in Zoeyâs health. They answered every question we had (and we had a lot) and made sure our girl was comfortable and stable before we left. Sheâs doing much better now, and Iâm honestly not sure what we wouldâve done without them.
Penn-Ohio Veterinary Services, located in Vienna, isnât just a vetâtheyâre partners in your petâs health. They offer everything from wellness exams, dental cleanings, and preventative care to urgent services and custom care plans, like the one that helped Zoey stay seizure-free for so long. We also bring our Australian Shepherd, Max, here, and they treat him like family too. Whether you have a brand new puppy, a senior pet, or just need someone you can count on in an emergency, Penn-Ohio has built a reputation on kindness, professionalism, and genuine love for animals. Weâre grateful every day that theyâre just a short drive away.

Sunrise Inn of Warren
The Sunrise Inn was first established all the way back in 1929 in downtown Warren. Just a few years later, the owners Tom & Angelo Haidaris expanded the restaurant. Soon after, it became Warrenâs very first pizza shop when soldiers returned home from Italy during WWII. They brought the delicious taste of pizza back home with them and itâs been history ever since. Today, the Sunrise Inn continues to grow with its cozy atmosphere and great service.

Charity Spotlight
Missyâs Second Chance at Love

Missyâs story is one that breaks your heart and mends it all in the same breath. When she arrived in June 2024, she carried the physical scars of an embedded double-wrapped collar, one of the worst injuries Animal Charity has ever seen. At just three years old, she had clearly endured years of pain and neglect. But thanks to immediate medical attention and a lot of love, her body is healing. And now, with patience and care, her spirit is slowly starting to heal too.
Missyâs journey wouldnât be possible without the incredible volunteers who show up for dogs like her every single day. One of her biggest supporters, Troy, has been spending time by her side, teaching her that not all humans hurt and that affection can feel safe. Every tail wag, every gentle nudge forward, is proof that love makes a difference. Missy still has a ways to go, but sheâs learning to trust, and with the continued support of this amazing community, sheâs well on her way to finding the forever home she deserves.
